We are searching for a new Autism Home Based Services Trainer to support our in-home Habilitation and Respite Providers. This is a full-time (30-40 hours a week) position with a comprehensive benefit package. Part-time applicants will also be considered (with a limited benefit package). The starting pay range is $16.00-$20.00 per hour (depending on experience).
The Autism Home Based Services Trainer is a paraprofessional clinician that serves multiple functions associated with the delivery and coordination of high quality habilitation and respite services, and also involves direct services similar to the role of Habilitation & Respite Provider, both in the field (50%) and from our corporate office location (50%). This position does require being able to drive to locations across the Valley (mileage reimbursement is provided).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide training and support for Habilitation & Respite Providers:
Conduct home visits to assist providers with hands-on training and guidance
Help providers understand how to implement goals, establish routines, work with families, complete reports, and conduct other activities to provide effective and compassionate services
Provide additional support via phone or email as needed
Deliver presentations for new employee orientation and related training classes
Assist providers with obtaining or creating any necessary teaching materials for habilitation goals
Provide support for families receiving habilitation or respite services:
Assist with writing appropriate functional outcomes/goals and teaching strategies
Help families prepare for ISP meetings with DDD, and attend if needed
Provide support via phone, email, or home visits to help families receive effective services
Provide temporary/emergency habilitation or respite services as assigned
Manage administrative tasks and systems to coordinate habilitation and respite services
Help manage databases and related systems for client goals, ISPs, reports, and related information
Conduct data entry efficiently to keep all records up to date and facilitate implementation of services
Work with supervisors and administrative staff to ensure authorizations, goals, and other elements necessary for service coordination are in place:
Communicate with DDD support coordinators as needed to facilitate services for families and providers
Assist with incident reporting and other related procedures
Submit written reports or related items documenting activities for home visits and communications
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
At least 1 year of experience providing home-based habilitation for multiple children/youth with autism; experience with more than one family preferred.
Proficient at listening to and interpreting needs of child & family
Ability to manage a flexible schedule and have full availability M-F between 2:00-7:00 p.m.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate proficiently in verbal and written English
Enthusiasm and positive attitude towards all people; solid team player open to new ideas
Ability to multi-task, independently plan and organize own activities
Ability to provide own transportation to client homes and other service locations throughout Maricopa County
Ability and skills to administer physical and verbal prompting techniques to increase child’s overall skills & abilities
Ability to respond positively and appropriately to child’s behaviors and verbalizations to improve behavior and maximize independent functioning, consistent with the personal values and direction expressed by the child’s family and/or AZA United supervisors
